PROCESS FOR ELECTIONS '23


Process for Elections Each spring an announcement of elections will be shared with ASEHE membership and via social media channels.  The announcement will include: 

  • The positions eligible for election;
  • Position descriptions; and
  • Process for nominations.

 Process for Nominations Potential candidates for open leadership positions shall be made known through nominations (including self-nominations).  Nominations must be made in writing by the deadline outlined in the announcement of elections.  Nominations must be emailed to nominations@ASEHE.net and will be monitored by the Past-President.  Eligible Nominees Nominees shall be current members of ASEHE (for at least 1 calendar year) in good standing and in good standing at their respective institutions/organizations. Verifying Nominations The Past-President will contact each nominee in confidence, notifying them of the nomination.  The nominee will then have to respond by the deadline established by the Past-President as to whether they accept or decline the nomination.  Once a nominee accepts a nomination, they also must submit the following by the noted deadline: 

  • Current position and affiliated institution, if applicable;
  • Why they are accepting the nomination;
  • Vision and goals if elected.

 All nominations will be compiled and distributed to ASEHE membership at least 4 weeks prior to the designated “election period.” Elections Elections should take place on an annual basis around the time of the annual conference.  Elections will be conducted electronically.  Any ASEHE member in good standing is eligible to vote for one candidate per position. Results Election results will be shared with all candidates and ASEHE members within 5 days of voting completion. Assuming Office Newly elected members shall assume their new roles on a timeline determined by the sitting Board of Directors.

OPEN POSITIONS

Nominations are being accepted for the following positions:

Secretary (2 year term, Board Member, responsible for taking minutes at board, business, and membership meetings)

President-Elect (3 year term, Board Member)
